Swimming pool arrives at Casa Lumina

Hello. My name is Andreea and I want to let you know that I am very, very, very happy.

On Saturday, Steve Cooper came to Casa Lumina with a huge swimming pool. There was a bit of trouble trying to get it inflated but in the end the pool was carried to a local car repair place where the air soon got pumped in and then the pool – with about 10 people carrying it in the middle of the road soon got back to Casa Lumina. A hose pipe was used to fill the pool with water – and it too ages! After nearly two hours there was about six inches of water in the pool and Alina was the first person to get in it. Actually, Alina got in it a few times before the water was even in it! After a while, I went in. I was very brave because I've never been in a swimming pool before. I soon got used to it and before long I was lying down with the back of my head in the water, kicking my legs and splashing. I laughed and laughed and laughed. Eleven other people got in the pool with me but there was still plenty of room for us all to have a lot of fun and we managed to splash anyone who came to get us out. We all had a really lovely time – even Radu got in after a LOT of persuasion. We didn't even know that a pool was going to be given to us so we weren't exactly dressed for swimming. However, the weather has been so very hot over here it really didn't matter that we all got in wearing our clothes – we'd got t-shirts and shorts on so it was alright. We all took off our flip-flops before we got in the swimming pool and we weren't even told to do so. It was really refreshing having a nice cooling down experience. When we went back in to Casa Lumina some of the staff had a lot of work to do mopping and drying the wet floors where we'd traipsed through in our dripping wet clothes.

I hope the hot weather stays a lot longer because I love using the swimming pool in the afternoons now.

Thanks for making me so very happy.

I hope you like the photos that are attached.

Andreea.
