February 2007

Works at the building site of Casa Albert, Luncani have been progressing at an exceptional rate since we signed the contract for works just before Christmas and last up-dated you.

This work contract is for the;

*Installation of the boilers and heating pipes and connection of mains water.
*Remaining '1st fix' to the electrical installation.
*Fire-proof treatment to roof timbers, provision of ceilings throughout and stud
partitions (see below).

*Completing the waste pipes ready to install sanitary appliances.
*Providing the floor screed (smooth finish - see below).

*Plastering of internal masonry walls (see below).

We wanted to show you some photos of the work on site to let you know where the money that many of you have donated has been spent. The end is finally in sight now!

This does however mean that we are now in a position where we need to assess funding for the final stages of the construction. We hope to be in a position to agree a further element of works, exceeding 75,000euros by the end of March, however, to do so we do desperately need your help.

The next element of works will include the following:

*Completing the installation of the central heating.

*The provision of a septic tank.

*The provision of a fire hydrant.

*The completion of the internal partions, plastering and skim coat.

If you feel that you can help in any way either by donating money towards an element of works or organising / taking part in a fund-raising activity, let us know - It's still not too late to organise an "on the menu" dinner party [click here].

Also, we are now planning to organise mission teams in May to paint the inside of the building. If you're interested in taking part in one of these mission teams, you can read all about it .... here.

We'll keep you posted with the latest photos / up-dates with the project.
